Dragoș Pătraru could return with State of the Nation at TVR1, 8 years after he was fired by the former management

Dragoș Pătraru, producer of the State of the Nation show, is negotiating with TVR1 to return to the small screens. 8 years ago he was fired by the then management following revelations.

According to the Media Page, the TVR Steering Committee has already approved “the start of negotiations between SRTv and the State of the Nation Association, with a view to concluding a contract”.

The show could return to TVR1 after 8 years of absence, as the composition of the commission that will negotiate with Dragoș Pătraru, the producer of the show, has also been established. “State of the Nation” would be broadcast once a week.

A few weeks ago, Dragoş Pătraru said in a live broadcast that he would like to provide TVR with a weekly show for free. “I don’t think they would accept either“, he said ironically.

Eight years ago, the management of Romanian Television decided to remove from the station the show “State of the Nation”, produced by Dragoş Pătraru, according to a notice sent to the journalist and signed by the then director of the institution, Doina Gradea.

The decision came after the scandal of the audio recordings made public by Dragoş Pătraru, in which the way in which Doina Gradea regards the job of a journalist is surprised.

In them, the president-general manager of TVR, Doina Gradea, is surprised when she says about a reporter of the public station that she has “a pig’s head“, because he persistently asked a question to the mayor of the Capital, Gabriela Firea, and about the journalists from Ştiri he said that they were “profession haters” because they are critical of the Government.

Also, the head of TVR expressed her indignation that a reporter sent a request to the Council of Europe regarding the Romanian Justice laws. In the recordings, the director of TVR 1 and the producer Eduard Dârvariu can be heard saying, among other things, that in the institution “they are stealing like wildfire”.
