Elena Lasconi was asked, on Thursday, on TVR, how she sees the role of the Church in Romania in the 21st century.

The church should not get involved in politics. He should stay away from politics and I heard that there were some church figures who got involved. I mean, it’s visible, it wasn’t just gossip, stories. And it’s sad that this is happening. But I respect the Church as an institution and there are many priests with grace. That is, priests who know how to listen and somehow I think that they often have an extremely important role in society, especially in the rural area because in the city you can maybe turn to a psychologist, if you can afford it, but if you have in a small community a priest who knows how to listen and to whom you can go for advice, that is a good thing“, stated Elena Lasconi.

Lasconi, about Georgescu: “He likes to talk from the living room”

Regarding Călin Georgescu, his opponent in the presidential elections, Elena Lasconi said that Romanians no longer want “a president in the living room“.

The USR presidential candidate was asked, on TVR, how she sees the fact that Călin Georgescu did not appear at this debate.

We have already seen Mr. Georgescu’s manipulation techniques, we know them. I hope all Romanians find out what this candidate is doing. He likes to talk from the living room or on televisions where no one confuses him and gives his speech on TikTok or other social networks. I’m not here to offend candidates, I’m here to answer questions and I want Romanians to know what I want to do for Romania. We had an absent president, I don’t think Romanians want a president in their living room anymore“, said Elena Lasconi.
