The president of USR, Elena Lasconi, reacted, in a televised interview, to Victor Ponta, stating that he offended over a million women in Romania who bear the name Elena and that the former prime minister “wants a pat on the head” from the prime minister. It all started after the USR leader criticized the Monday evening meeting that brought Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană and the former Prime Minister to the same table, and Ponta launched several accusations against him.

“I honestly was happy in a way, on the other hand I was sad. I want to thank Mr. Ponta because his lordship’s presence drove me to this fight, then Dragnea followed and that’s how I decided to enter politics, and I really want to thank him for the way he communicated with the Romanians during the period in which he was prime minister. But I was saddened by one thing, namely the fact that he offended over a million women in Romania who bear the name Elena and in a way mocked a symbol of Christianity in Romania and Christianity in general, Saint Elena”. said Elena Lasconi, on B1 TV.
The president of USR also said that the former prime minister “wants a pat on the head” from the prime minister.
“I think that the former prime minister should use these energies to do things for Romania but he failed to deliver and I think he was also fined when he was in the presidential race by the Romanian people for his arrogance and defiant style. I don’t want to comment too much, I think it’s a moment when he wants a pat on the head from Mr. Ciolacu, to stay at the table“, said Elena Lasconi.
As “Adevărul” reported, Victor Ponta said, on Wednesday, that Elena Lasconi is “another Leana dog”, and that it seems to him that “she wants to be a scandal girl who makes Šoșoăca look like a «Lady»!”.

Elena Lasconi had previously criticized the images that appeared in the public space, in which Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, Deputy General Secretary of NATO, Mircea Geoană, former Prime Minister Victor Ponta, and other politicians appeared together in an event, stating, among other things, that: “they reserved a table and pawned Romania” and that “he eats at the table reserved on credit, which we, the suckers, also pay for“.
