Elena Lasconi criticizes PSD and PNL for not understanding anything from the Romanian vote. “They don’t cut anything from the specials, but only from the people”

USR President, Elena Lasconi, accuses Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu of not understanding the message sent by the Romanians in the elections and that he “doesn’t want to clean up the fence of the specials at all”.

According to her, “ihypocrisy, lies and irresponsible statementse’s of the prime ministerthey only feed the isolationist current” and extremist, writes Agerpres.

“Marcel Ciolacu, PSD and PNL bear all the responsibility for the fragile situation in which the Romanian economy and even the country as a whole are. He and his people, with the blessing of Klaus Iohannis, are the ones who defrauded the public money and who they lied to the people thinking only of the elections and of a potential electoral gain. Even now they do not cut from the unnecessary expenses, from the aberrant privileges of the piles employed by the state. What does he want the private sector to be in solidarity with the state, as he was with the people when he lied to us that he does not go to Nice and Monaco? Following the Dragnea model, Ciolacu is also hypocritically yelling at foreign companies to pay or leave” , stated Lasconi, according to a statement sent on Monday by the USR.

She adds that the prime minister must explain why “he lied”, before the elections, promising that pensions will increase from January 1, 2025 at least with the rate of inflation.

“In the summer, PSD and PNL humiliated those who worked in work groups and those with disabilities, cutting them drastically from their rights, now it’s the turn of the other pensioners. Marcel Ciolacu to explain to teachers and staff from schools who lied to them after the general strike in 2023, taking away not only a possible salary increase, but also their teaching career and professional career bonuses. Let them explain why they are not money, while the sinecures continue to collect well-deserved allowances of over 10,000 euros per month”specifies Lasconi.

The USR leader points out that the annual non-indexing of pensions, salaries, allowances or social benefits means, in fact, that people “they will be poorer and poorer”from one month to another, because they will have the same income while everything else – bills, food prices, medicine, clothes – will continue to rise in price.

“Marcel Ciolacu to explain to the patients why they will be forced to take money out of their pockets for outpatient consultations, after they had to pay for tests and after, in case they needed hospital, they had to buy their medicines and sanitary materials. (…) And Marcel Ciolacu should explain to the smaller or larger entrepreneurs why, instead of cleaning the administrative apparatus of sinecures and privileged people, he puts the guns on them, forcing them to pay, overnight, higher taxes. To explain to them why, instead of digitizing public services and taking measures to combat tax evasion, in a real way, they are reintroducing aberrant taxes that have already proven themselves uselessness, like tax on the pole”mentions the USR leader.

She draws attention to the fact that the measures in the GEO“little train” does not cover “not even the deficit” from 2024, given that the ordinance has an estimated impact of 133.37 billion lei.

“If we take into account all the increases that had to be applied in 2025, as well as other additional expenses, we would still need almost 20 billion lei for a deficit of 7.2% of GDP”appreciates Lasconi.

At the same time, she emphasizes that USR representatives “they didn’t run away from government or responsibility”but were “drive away” from the discussion table, because they didn’t want them “lie” the Romanians.

“We wanted real reforms, a responsible government, a government for all, not just for some. However, it is clear that this was and is in flagrant contradiction with the PSD and PNL plans, which only know how to govern for themselves and for the chambers their party”says Elena Lasconi.
