After images of Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu and NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană having dinner at the same table appeared in the public space, Elena Lasconi claimed, in a post on Facebook, that the two leaders “she eats at the table reserved on credit, which we, the suckers, also pay for”.

“They reserved a table and pawned Romania. Why? Because I can.
why can i Because I turned the lie from four to four years, from five to five years. Because we closed our eyes to their combinations at the same table, with the same characters, and settled for electoral crumbs, too preoccupied with everyday obstacles, bills and problems.
For 35 years. For 35 years, the Pecerists, the Fesenists, new and old Pesedists, red or painted yellow, have been making counters for the ephemeral power, for the scoundrel, and it angers us that some people think that this is all Romanian politics means. The abnormal has become normal.
And something else makes me angry. That this “normality” that all politicians are corrupt affects me personally not only in my pocket like you through bad governance, but it also puts a stamp on my forehead as “like them” or “that she must have done something too”. This is why people of good faith avoid entering politics. Without fear! We are more like them.
They eat at the table reserved on credit, which we, the suckers, also pay for.
What are we doing? Do we go on like this with crumbs, arrogance and corruption? Are we packing up and leaving? Or do we turn the tables and take our country back?
Our country. Romania”, it is stated in the post made by the president of USR, Elena Lasconi.
We remind you that Marcel Ciolacu, Prime Minister and President of the Social Democratic Party, and NATO Deputy Secretary General, Mircea Geoană, were caught having dinner at the same table on Monday evening, July 29, in a restaurant, together with other politicians, among who and the former prime minister Victor Ponta.
Asked by Antena 3 about this meeting, Mircea Geoană explained: “I was invited to Marius Tucă’s birthday. I had no political discussion with Ciolacu or anyone else present at the anniversary.”
According to Victor Ponta, the discussions between Ciolacu and Geoană took place on the performance of the swimmer David Popovici, who became an Olympic swimming champion. The two stood up at the singing of the Romanian national anthem, at the Olympic Games, at the Romanian sportsman’s award.
