Historical drama ”Shogun,” an adaptation of James Clavell’s famous novel, has received 25 Emmy nominations and is leading the race for best American television production, along with ”The Bear,” according to Agerpres.

The first season of this FX-created series will compete in the category of best drama series, the most coveted Emmy trophy, with the latest season of the Netflix series about the British royal family “The Crown”among other nominated productions.
“The Bear,” another FX production that follows the scenes of a Chicago restaurant, earned 23 nominations, including one for best comedy series, a category it won at the previous Emmy Awards.
Also in the comedy category, the productions ‘Abbott Elementarybroadcast by ABC, which is set in an underfunded school in Philadelphia, and the HBO series ”hacks”about a septuagenarian comedy actress and a millennial screenwriter.
Also the Netflix series Baby Reindeer, which told the story of a bartender harassed by a female customer, received 11 nominations, including best miniseries. The creator and protagonist of this production, Richard Gadd, said that the story is inspired by real events, but a defamation lawsuit filed in court claims that the portrait of the harasser is exaggerated.
The winners of the Emmy awards, the most prestigious awards for television productions, will be announced during a gala broadcast live on the ABC channel, owned by the Walt Disney group, on September 15.
