Helmut Duckadam died on December 2 at the Military Hospital in Bucharest, at the age of 65, after being hospitalized since November 28.
Duckadam and wife Alexandra were expected in the Delta
On National Day, Alexandra and Helmut Duckadam were special guests at a luxury location in the Danube Delta. More precisely, at Lebăda Luxury Resort & Spa, a luxury resort in Crișan where a special treatment was prepared for them.
Sofia Vicoveanca gave a recital
An anniversary party was held at “Lebăda” on December 1st. Many stars were invited, and the legendary folk singer Sofia Vicoveanca, 83 years old, gave a recital.
Along with Duckadam, former great athletes Leonard Doroftei and Ilie Năstase, along with their partners, were also expected at that location. Of all of them, only the former boxer arrived at Lebăda Luxury Resort & Spa, “Nasty” having another event scheduled.
In a more distant future, the “hero of Seville” was expected in Canada, on a fishing trip.
Palinka of 270 euros
Doroftei and Duckadam had met about a month before, in the province, on a stage, as motivational speakers.
On his return to Bucharest, Duckadam promised “Santa” a personalized bottle of strength with his signature, which he managed to send to him through an intermediary.
Now, after the disappearance of Duckadam, Doroftei keeps that bottle like the eyes in his head, in memory of the former great goalkeeper.
The producer of alcoholic beverages Zetea had succeeded in bringing the Duckadam palinka to the market. The product, of 0.7 liters, was sold at the price of 270 euros in the airport duty-free.
