Truth: When and how did you decide to participate in Britain’s Got Talent?
Maya Giotea: As a child, I admired all the competitors who stepped on the Britain’s Got Talent show and I was deeply inspired to get there one day. I am extremely lucky to have this opportunity and I want to encourage anyone who has a dream to “touch their stars” and never give up. Believe in yourself and follow your passion, even when the road seems hard.
How much did you prepare for this exceptional moment?
Given that it represents an important achievement for me, I waited for this moment and worked hard to make sure everything will come out. Every step I made was an effort to reach this dream, and now, when it is close to fulfillment, I feel immense satisfaction and pride. I am grateful for every lesson learned along the way and for all those who have supported me. This is just the beginning, and the road continues!
What made you choose “List”, Beyoncé’s very special song?
“List” has always been a song that made me feel vulnerable. I never realized how great the emotional impact it had on me until I supported the auditions at Britain’s Got Talent. It was an extremely demanding piece, but this was the challenge that I liked the most. I like to face my fears and go beyond my limits, because I know that I can only grow and develop. Each note was a lesson and an opportunity to learn more about myself.
What were the reactions of your colleagues and teachers when you returned to high school?
I was deeply impressed by all the support that my colleagues and teachers offered. They constantly supported me and were always with me at every moment. I thank them from their souls for their encouragement, because they believed in me and helped me to go further. Without their support, I wouldn’t have arrived here. I appreciate every word of encouragement and every gesture of support, which motivated me to give my best.
You received one of the fastest Golden Buzz in Britain’s Got Talent. How surprised were you from Bruno Tonioli’s reaction?
It all happened so fast! I was extremely happy to see that his reaction was so determined, but also very fast. Bruno is the one who offered me this unique opportunity to prove why I am capable and to continue my way. I thank him from the heart for believing in me and for granted me the chance to express myself on such an important stage. Without his support and confidence, this moment would not have been possible, and for that I will always be grateful.
How was your passion for music born?
Music has always been the most handy way of expressing my feelings, either by listening, writing or singing. I discovered this passion from a very young age and, over the years, music has become an essential part of my life. I can say with certainty that it is the thing that makes me the happiest and that helps me connect with myself and the world around me. Music gives me the freedom to be myself, and this is definitely the most important thing for me.
What is the biggest dream you work for?
I want with all my heart for people to forget their problems when listening to me. I want my music to bring them a moment of peace and happiness, to give them an escape from everyday life. Every time I get on stage, I give my best and put all my passion in every note. I hope that those around me will feel the energy and emotion they convey, to enjoy the special moments I want to share with them. Music is my way of connecting souls and creating unforgettable memories.
