Some Facebook users have recently noticed that the application displays in the stories section images generated with artificial intelligence, automatically created based on their own photos in the phone.

According to screenshots published by Techcrunch, when you try to create a new story, a pop-up window as you ask if you want to “pErmite the processing in the cloud to get creative ideas for you from shooting the camera ”.

The description of this function specifies that “To create ideas for you, we will select media files from your photo album and upload them into our cloud continuously, based on information like the time, location or themes”.

What does it actually mean?

If you accept this option, Facebook receives continuous access to the entire photo gallery of your phone. The pictures are automatically climbed into the Meta cloud, where they can be processed by artificial intelligence image generators.

It is important to note that these photos are not automatically published on Facebook. They only appear as posts of posts, but they are the whole result of an automatic processing of your personal data.

The new feature is only available in the Facebook app for iOS and Android. Those who use Facebook only in the desktop or web version are not affected.
