Researchers in the United States have discovered that parents can find out the child’s sex according to facial features.

The team of researchers at the University of Michigan recruited 104 pairs of parents to have at least one child. Both parents were asked to present portrait photos that were evaluated by students according to attractiveness, dominance and masculinity or femininity, writes the Daily Mail.
The results show that a certain feature was associated with 83% higher probability of having a boy. Their analysis, published in Adaptive Human Behaviour and Physiology magazine, showed that fathers whose faces were evaluated to be more imposing had more chances to have a son.
This result has been valid regardless of their level of attractiveness, masculinity or age. However, a similar effect was not observed for the facial dominance of mothers.

“The relationship between the more dominant facial features and the sex of the child deserves more in -depth ”wrote the team.
