After a shameful draw with Metaloglobus (0-0) and a limited success with UTA (1-0), FCSB lost in the third stage of the play-out, 2-3 on the field of FC Botoșani. Mirel Rădoi, installed at the start of the second value group on the red-blue bench, fails to stop the chaos from the champion team.
FCSB opened the scoring through Darius Olaru (4), with a shot from about 22 meters, and controlled the first half. The hosts managed to equalize through the Frenchman Hervin Ongenda (35), who dribbled past Andre Duarte in the box, but the champions entered the break with an advantage, thanks to the penalty converted by Florin Tănase (ladder, 42), after Juri Cisotti was fouled in the box by goalkeeper Luka Kukic.
Duarte’s blunder decided the final result
The team coached by Mirel Rădoi was unrecognizable after the break, making many mistakes, so that FC Botoşani – another team in pain, with success in the last 6 stages – managed to turn the score around. Ongenda restored the tie (68) with a return shot, and Sebastian Mailat (78) scored the winning goal after a huge mistake by Andre Duarte.
FC Botoşani had no less than three goals in this match, one in the first half, through Ongenda (13), from a free kick from 18 meters, and two in the second half, through Mihai Bordeianu (83), with a shot from 20 meters, and Ştefan Bodişteanu (90), from a free kick from 20 meters. Mailat also had a great opportunity, but slipped after passing goalkeeper Matei Popa (80).
To complete the story, in the 88th minute, Mihai Lixandru received a red card for a foul in the position of the last defender on Andrei Dumiter, who escaped towards the goal.
