A psychotherapist has revealed five signs that older men are chasing a younger woman. The specialists also explained the personality traits that make them cheat.
The dynamic between an older man and a younger woman can be a damaging one for everyone involved, relationship expert Charlotte Fox Weber tells the Daily Mail.
There have been several famous cases throughout history when men set their sights on women much younger than themselves. For example, Pablo Picasso seduced his second wife, Jacqueline Roque, when he was 71 and she was only 25.
The psychotherapist says that nowadays there is a more common modern scenario called “Revenge of the Nerds“. This refers to the fact that a man who was far too studious and serious in his youth to attract women his own age might be successful later. He will then discover that, enjoying a new prestige, he will find himself in a position to filter with young women who would not have given him a chance in his youth.
Another situation that often occurs is with men who married their childhood sweethearts and then, 30 years later, feel the need to play up their missed chances of a sexually active young man.
Another attempt to pursue younger women can also be triggered by a situation in the man’s life, such as a financial failure or a humiliating divorce. In these situations he might seek solace and regain status with a younger woman.

He starts wearing skinny jeans
If the husband begins to behave in an unusual way, enriching his wardrobe, going to the gym with previously lacking enthusiasm, then these are reasons to suspect that he may be doing this for someone new, says the relationship expert Charlotte Fox Weber, who claims a sign is when she “starts wearing skinny jeans.” If his new habits seem strange or ridiculous to a middle-aged man, then it could be the arrival of a younger woman in his life.
Use expressions used by young people
Another sign that the man is dating a woman much younger than himself is the use of words in his language that are usually spoken by young people and are not suitable for a middle-aged man.
“Yes, a newly expanded vocabulary could be a sign that he’s trying (ineffectively) to sound relevant to his kids and their friends, but equally, it could also be clues about catching feelings for someone who’s a lot younger“, says the expert.
Other signs that the psychotherapist refers to are: preoccupation with the sexual tendencies of young people, looking for solutions or chemical products to keep fit or suddenly booking tickets to popular music bands among young people.
The psychotherapist also explained what women should do if they suspect these things.
“Don’t try to get into his game. A facelift and an exciting (for you) new wardrobe won’t do. It’s much better to sit and talk. Tell him (gently) that his behavior is embarrassing and disrespectful. Figure these things out quickly, and this can provide a great opportunity for both of you to talk about the passage of time and what it means to grow old together”, says Charlotte Fox Weber for the quoted source.
