Summer holidays are the ideal time for relaxation and exploration, but a successful journey begins with a well -done training. Whether you are an experienced traveler or are going to fly for the first time, it is essential to be informed before and during the trip.
Ioana Seghete, Wizz ambassador and flight accompanying, shares some of the best travel tips. Understanding what you need to do before leaving, at the airport and in case of disturbances, you can avoid unnecessary stress and start your vacation.

1. Smart preparation before flight
Before you start to make your luggage, make sure the documents are okay: check if the passport or identity card is valid, exactly corresponds to the data on the ticket and do not forget to consult the visa requirements for the destination chosen. Make sure all the important documents, as well as the possible essential drugs, are put in the hand luggage. A smooth trip starts long before take -off, and while you are preparing for your holiday, Wizz Air is ready to give you a more efficient and stressful flight experience this summer.
If you fly with children, pay attention to the possible special rules of the airline on minor travel. Until the age of 2, parents do not have to purchase a separate ticket for their babies, but note that a person can accompany a single baby, and in this case a fixed tax segment is charged. A car -oriented car seat and special harness is allowed if you book an additional place. After reaching the age of 2, the child must have his own place. Children must be over 2 years and under 14 years of age both on departure and return. Note that a child should be reserved on the same ticket as the companion adult.
If you are pregnant and you have between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy (or until week 32 if you have twins), you must have a medical certificate that you can fly. It is not allowed to travel after these limit periods. If you need special assistance, such as in case of disability or if you use medical equipment, you can request dedicated support through the Wizz Air website.
It is important to book the ticket directly on the Wizz Air website or through the mobile application, to benefit from the best real-time rates and notifications. If you have booked through a third party site or online travel agency, you will need to stay in touch with them for any update.
If you have to sit on the suitcase so you can close it, it is most likely not so “easy”. To save space, run the clothes instead of folding them. Running clothes saves space, reduces boxes and turns packing into a game (which you win). Avoid unforeseen taxes by checking in advance the dimensions of the luggage. Oversized objects can attract additional taxes at the airport and may delay the boarding. The small bottles are the right ones – the rule is to have under 100 ml, enough for a few days of travel and, in addition, they significantly reduce the weight of the luggage.

2. At the airport and aboard the plane: what do you need to know
The online check-in is free and simple: if you have reserved a place, you can check-in 30 days before flight; If you have no place reserved, the check-in opens 24 hours before leaving. The check-in at the airport is available for a fee, unless it is included in your ticket.
To always be up to date with your journey, check the state of flight periodically through the official application or the company’s website. Come to the airport at least two hours before leaving, to have enough time for check-in, security control and passport control (if applicable). You have the documents at hand and go to the gate as soon as it is displayed – the information is visible everywhere at the airport. Wear first, coffee after: check the boarding gate as soon as you pass the security. Make sure you have enough time and only then go after a snack.

Once you get on board, be careful about the other passengers. Listen to the crew instructions, speak in a low tone and keep the cleanliness around you. Store large luggage in the compartment above and keep the essentials under the front seat. The pillow for the neck is not considered hand luggage.
Consume alcohol with responsibility, if you choose to do it during the flight. Note that alcohol has a faster effect when you are in the air and can contribute to dehydration. For safety reasons, the consumption of alcohol brought from outside the aircraft is forbidden – only the drinks purchased on board can be consumed. Smoking and electronic cigarettes are strictly forbidden on the plane and are allowed only in specially arranged areas of the airport.

3. What to do in case of disturbances
Disturbance in the aviation industry can bring unique challenges. These can be subjective (when related to the airline – such as unforeseen technical checks) or objectives (external factors such as bad weather, air traffic controllers or airport slots restrictions). Wizz Air does everything possible to operate flights according to the program, and the cancellation or delay of a flight is always the last option taken into account. In the event of a delay or cancellation, you will receive notifications by SMS, e-mail and mobile app. Depending on the situation, you can benefit from vouchers for food or other forms of assistance.
In case of cancellation, postponement or “overbooking”, follow the instructions of the Wizz Air representative (usually the person who checks or the one who checks the boarding tickets), as well as the digital updates. The agents at the gate or the check-in counter can offer you support for transport and accommodation at the hotel. If, due to the seasonal agglomeration, the hotel accommodation cannot be organized on the spot, you can book a hotel yourself and you can request the costs on the company’s website, based on the supporting receipts.
For lost, delayed or damaged luggage, immediately notice the problem before leaving the luggage lifting area. Keep your updated contact details and tag the suitcase for easier identification. These small measures contribute to speeding up the process of recovering a luggage.
Stay informed, fly ready and enjoy your summer trip. Although the above tips are useful for any flight, for additional information, also consult the Terms and Conditions, as well as the frequent questions section on
