The Corvinul Hunedoara football team, winner of the Romanian Cup, received, on Thursday, the license to participate in European competitions and will perform in the 2024-2025 edition of the UEFA Europa League.
“On Thursday, May 23, UEFA communicated to the Romanian Football Federation the decision regarding the request of the Corvinul 1921 Hunedoara club to be granted a license to participate in European competitions. Following the analysis of the documents sent by the club through the FRF, Corvinul Hunedoara received the agreement to participate in the UEFA Europa League, season 2024-2025“, announced on Thursday, the Romanian Football Federation on the official website.
The second league team Corvinul Hunedoara obtained the right to participate in the Europa League by winning the 2023-2024 edition of the Romanian Betano Cup, after defeating Oţelul Galati in the final from Sibiu, on penalty kicks, with a score of 3 -2.
The last place of the Romanian teams that will perform in the European cups in the coming season will be decided after the play-off for the Conference League, between the University of Craiova and the University of Cluj, which will be played on Sunday, from 20:00, at the stadium “Ion Oblemenco” from Craiova.
FCSB champion will play in the Champions League preliminaries, and CFR Cluj vice-champion will start in the Conference League preliminaries.
