Tourists on holiday at sea, between August 12-17, will be able to benefit from medical consultations offered by the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, the Romanian Society of Dermatology, the Romanian Society of Endocrinology and the Romanian Society of Pediatrics.

For the fourth consecutive year, the prevention campaign “Assume to be healthy!” of the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Bucharest will arrive on the Romanian coast and offer free consultations in the specialties of dermatology, endocrinology and pediatrics to tourists present in 5 resorts on the Black Sea coast.
“Already an annual event of tradition, the prevention campaign of the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy -Assume to be healthy!-returns this year to the Romanian coast to offer as many medical consultations as possible to tourists who are at the seaside during this period Blacks and who will choose to sacrifice a few tens of minutes of their vacation for a dermatological, endocrinological or pediatric evaluation and ultimately for the safety of their health status” said Prof. Dr. Viorel Jinga, rector of the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, according to a press release.
He wanted to add that “having the experience of the previous editions, when we recorded a successive increase in the number of tourists who crossed the threshold of our prevention campaign, I have the hope that this year we will surpass the record of consultations provided last year which amounted to 4,757 and through which 39 cases of suspicions related to possible dermatological tumor conditions, multiple cases of undiagnosed high blood pressure until that moment or cases of obesity, but also of infant malnutrition“
During the six days of the Campaign – Assume to be healthy! -Litoral 2024, all those who wish to benefit from free dermatological, endocrinological and pediatric consultations will be able to call on the professionalism of the 36 doctors (residents and specialists) who will be present in the five specially designed work points (spacious tents of M. Ap.N. on which campaign banners will be displayed) in the following stations: Olimp, Neptun, Jupiter, Saturn and Mangalia.
Where do you find the doctors?
Consultations will take place between August 12-17 in the time slots 09.00 – 12.00 and 15.00 – 18.00, except for August 17, when the screening program will take place only in the morning.
The tents will be located near the following landmarks:
1. Olimp – beach near the Salvamar Observation Point
2. Neptun – beach in the Salvamar point area
3. Jupiter – beach near the Salvamar Observation Point
4. Saturn – beach near point SMURD
5. Mangalia – beach in the Salvamar point area
Since the beginning of the campaign “Assume to be healthy!”, from the summer of 2021 until last year, 11,197 consultations were carried out, free of charge, in approximately 1,000 hours in which dermatologists, endocrinologists and pediatricians interacted permanently with the tourists who used the medical services.
The total number of medical consultations registered during the campaign in 2021 was 2,066. Of these, d913 dermatology consultations for melanoma screening. In the endocrinology specialty, 709 consultations were performed for metabolic syndrome screening and 444 for osteoporosis screening.
The total number of medical consultations recorded in 2022 was 4,374 of which 2,014 – dermatology consultations for melanoma screening; and in the endocrinology specialty, 1,525 consultations were carried out for metabolic syndrome screening and 835 consultations for osteoporosis screening.
