Bad news for drivers! After a period of discounts at the pump, starting July 1, fuel prices will increase significantly.
Both diesel and petrol will cost considerably more, meaning drivers will be taking more money out of their pockets for each fill-up.

Increase in excise duty and impact on prices
After a period where motorists benefited from lower prices at the pump, especially for diesel which ended up being cheaper than petrol, the situation is about to change dramatically. The main reason for this increase is the increase in excise duties on fuels, starting in July.
Currently, prices at the pump have dropped significantly. For example, if in April the price of a liter of diesel was 7.46 lei, now it has become cheaper by more than 20 pennies, ending up being cheaper than gasoline, which is sold at an average price of 7.24 lei per liter, notes antena3.ro.
From July 1, however, gasoline will be more expensive by 43 money per liter, and diesel will increase by 40 money per liter. These increases will have a direct impact on the costs borne by drivers.
For a driver who refuels with diesel, filling up the car will be more expensive by approximately 20 lei. In the case of those who use gasoline, the additional cost will be even higher, reaching almost 21 lei for a full tank.
These substantial increases will affect the budget of many families and individuals who depend on the car for daily commutes.
Drivers and representatives of the car industry are concerned about these price increases, given the economic impact they will have on transport and logistics. These increases are also expected to contribute to a general increase in prices, having a domino effect on transport costs and, by implication, on the prices of consumer goods.
