Massive Attack, Bring Me The Horizon, Queens of The Stone Age, Chase and Status, Sean Paul and Paolo Nutini – this is the headliner of the 10th edition of the Electric Castle festival. Another 300 artists from all musical genres will be present at Banffy Castle, in Bonțida, between July 17 and 21, to create a new epic, eclectic, exotic, explosive edition. Epic – Beyond the rankings and trends of the moment, there are artists who write history in music. Massive Attack and Queens of the Stone Age have created musical styles, becoming benchmarks for entire generations of musicians, while bands such as Bring Me The Horizon and Chase and Status revolutionizes through versatility and the appetite to experiment in different musical areas. Electric Castle 2024 means that, in just 5 days, you have the chance to see their live shows and be part of this history.
Eclectic – Electric Castle has always had the courage to challenge again Sean Paulone of the most prolific artists dancehall of all time, is the surprise of the edition. His image is everything you would expect from a rapper born in the capital of reggae style, but his track record in hits (1.2 billion listens in 2023 alone) and awards (Grammy, AMA, Billboard) says much more about ambition, talent and the power to create a brand. In the opposite register, Paolo Nutini comes with a cocktail of rock and soul, a voice that stirs emotions and more than 20 years of career that has brought him millions of fans.
The two join a musical entourage created by the organizers to take festival fans out of their comfort zone. With Marc Rebelletthe hottest DJ of the moment, Shaquille O'Neal aka DJ Diesel aka NBA star turned drum and bass star, Sevdalizathe artist experimenting with Iranian rhythms in pop music, and L'Entourloopthe collective project led by two Frenchmen posing as the “grandfathers of hip-hop”, Electric Castle refuses recipes in the line-up and follows its own creative instinct.
Explosive – Electric Castle means 5 days of non-stop party, maintained, this year, by the queen of techno music, Nina Kravitz, Hernán Cattaneoan important name in progressive house, DJ Shadowmaster of the art of sampling, Kungsor, Todd Terje, and many other festival premiere DJs. I return to the castle Sasha and Bonobosproducers discovered by festival fans at the first editions and always very well received here.
For those who get their energy from rock, the musical adventure will go through metal with brothers Max and Igor The knightthe founders of Sepultura who re-recorded two of the band's “classic” albums and will present them live, in a new format, Sleaford Modsprobably the most punk band in the UK at the moment, or garage rock with Iguana Death Cult and She Wants Revenge. Palaye Royale add a touch of elegance to the line up with their unique style, self-defined as fashionart-rock.
Exotic – Latin, African or Oriental rhythms find space on the 10 stages of the festival and at the 10th edition. Whether they will sing in Spanish, like authoritieswinner of the Latin Grammys for the best urban album, in Turkish, as they do Derya Yildirim & Simsek Groupor on Congolese rhythms, a premiere through the concert Full Musicthe artists make an important contribution to the festival's mission to promote quality music from around the world.
Romanian artists remain in the center of attention also at the 10th edition of the festival: Subcarpathians, Vița de Vie, Coma, Vama, Irina Rimes, Byron, Delia, Suie Paparude, CTC and dozens of other names are confirmed by the organizers.
