In a letter sent from the position of “future president of Romania“, Mircea Geoană told Donald Trump, after the Republican’s victory in the US presidential elections, that he shares his “bold vision of world peace”.

The message was sent in a congratulatory letter that Mircea Geoană sent on Facebook.
“I sincerely congratulate you on the historic victory in the US elections! The whole world watched this grand display of American democracy in action. I share your bold vision of world peace, focused on strong alliances, both in Europe and around the world. I had the privilege of meeting and working with you during your first term as President, in my then Deputy Secretary General of NATO. I remember the meeting of NATO leaders in London in 2019“, says the letter sent by Mircea Geoană to Donald Trump.

Mircea Geoană thanked Donald Trump, his administration and Secretary General Stoltenberg “for the decision that the second position, in terms of importance in NATO, should go, for the first time, to one of the newly allied countries”.
“Now in my own campaign for the position of President of Romania, I reconfirm my nation’s strong support for an ever stronger partnership between our countries. Our strategic partnership must be strengthened and expanded to the next level of a political, security and technological alliance. As the future President of Romania, I would be honored to meet as soon as possible and welcome you to Romania for the first visit of an American President since GW Bush. I wish you much success in your mission as President of a great nation and as a leader of the free world! God bless you!”, concluded Mircea Geoană.
