Champion Farul got only a draw on Sepsi's field on Friday evening, 1-1, and coach Gică Hagi says he doesn't understand why his players “forgot” football. Dissatisfied, the manager of the Dobrogenes “machine gunned” his students, who he said stayed on the field for the first 45 minutes.
“The first half we were zero, but in the second we deserved to win. We didn't have a chance at Sepsi's goal. The first half was inexplicable, I stayed on the field. We put as much pressure as possible in the second half, we tried to come out in the game, the opportunities came.
Since 2017, I have been showing them images of the principles we have, I think they are convincing. We have an identity, clear principles, we have to use them in the field, everyone should go in the same direction. I'm upset about the first half. I didn't pressure at all. We pretend to play if we evolve like this. We prepared the match properly, we knew their system, we analyzed them, we knew what we had to do. But the first half we didn't play properly”, said Gică Hagi, at Orange Sport.
Farul is in 5th place in the play-off, and to be sure that it catches the European cups, it must reach the podium. The 4th place does not provide certainty regarding access to Europe, everything depends on the name of the winner of the Romanian Cup.
