The Farul Constanța football club, patronized by Gică Hagi (61 years old), was sanctioned by the Disciplinary Commission of the Romanian Football Federation with a sporting penalty of 7,500 lei for the racist and xenophobic manifestations of its supporters during the home match against FC Rapid Bucharest.
“FCV Farul Constanța vs. FC Rapid 1923 SA – Incidents – Pursuant to art. 82.1 and 3.b, related to art. 83.2.c of the RD, with the application of art. 54.2 of the RD, the club FCV Farul Constanța is sanctioned with a sports penalty of 7,500 lei”, it is stated in the commission’s solution published on Wednesday on the official website of the Professional Football League.
The articles of the Disciplinary Regulations for which the group from Constanta was sanctioned refer to ‘displaying in any form racist, xenophobic and offensive inscriptions, chanting offensive and obscene words/expressions or emitting sounds for offensive purposes’.
The incidents caused by the supporters from Constanta took place during the match Farul – FC Rapid 3-1, from the 27th stage of the Superliga.
The Disciplinary Commission of the FRF sanctioned the coach of FC Argeș, Bogdan Andone, with a suspension for two matches and a sports penalty of 320 lei after the elimination from the match with Farul Constanța in the 28th stage.
Also, Mike Botuli Cestor, the defender of the Metaloglobus formation, eliminated in the match with FCSB in the 28th stage, was suspended for one match and received a sports penalty of 740 lei.
