Oţelul Galati dramatically defeated Farul, with a score of 1-0, on Friday evening, away, in Ovidiu, in a match from the 17th stage of the football Superleague.

The only goal of the game was scored by Samuel Teles (90+5), after the goalkeeper Alexandru Buzbuchi rejected Alexandru Mihai Pop’s shot from the edge of the box.
Although the two formations are led by two of the most spectacular players in Romanian football, Gică Hagi and Dorinel Munteanu, Farul and Oțelul did not offer anything on Friday evening. For most of the time, the two teams canceled each other out, the hosts not having a single shot on goal. Instead, Oţelul had another good chance at the end, but the same Teles fired wide (90+1).

“From my point of view, our victory, even if it came at the end, is indisputable. We annihilated our direct opponent, who we knew had good possession, valuable players, very effective around the 16-yard box, but today we didn’t give them the opportunity to be. I was coming after a less good period, but I always said that there is no crisis in my team, but unity, character. This was the only way we could get out of this situation, by proving to everyone that we are a united team”, said Dorinel Munteanu, who had not felt the taste of victory since August 30.
Farul was undefeated for three stages (two wins and one draw), while Oțelul ended a streak of nine stages without a win, in which it had registered five draws and four failures.
In another match played today in the Superliga, Sepsi beat Gloria Buzău 2-0 and advanced to the playoffs.
