Giulești was “chopped” at the commissions! Leader Rapid, severely penalized for the match with Cluj University

The Disciplinary Commission of the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) sanctioned the Rapid Bucharest club with a fine of 60,000 lei and the closure of ten sectors of the Giulești Stadium for the next Super League match (April 5, with U Cluj), due to incidents caused by supporters during the match with Craiova University.

FC Rapid 1923 vs. University of Craiova – Incidents – Pursuant to art. 82.1 and 3.a and c, related to art. 83.2.d of the RD, FC Rapid 1923 club is sanctioned with a sports penalty of 60,000 lei. FC Rapid 1923 is sanctioned with the measure of scheduling a game on its own ground, without spectators in sectors: 101, 108, 109, 112, 113, 114, 120, 121, 201 and 202. Pursuant to art. 82.1 and 3.b, related to art.83.2.c, with the application of art. 54.2 of the RD, the club FC Rapid is sanctioned with a sports penalty of 37,968.75 lei. In accordance with the provisions of art. 45.1 of the RD the FC Rapid 1923 club will execute the sanction for the most serious offense provided for by art. 83.2.d, respectively sports penalty of 60,000 lei and with the measure of scheduling a game on home ground without spectators in the following sectors: 101, 108, 109, 112, 113, 114, 120, 121, 201 and 202“, it is stated in the decision published on the website of the Professional Football League.

In the match between Rapid and Universitatea Craiova (1-1), from the 30th stage of the Superliga, the game was interrupted twice due to incidents. In min. 63, the game was interrupted for three minutes because of the tear gas used by the gendarmes. In min. 82, the match was stopped for two minutes due to xenophobic chants from the fans.

The coach of the FK Csikszereda team, Robert Ilyes, was suspended for two matches and fined 4,500 lei after he was sent off in the match with Oțelul Galați, won 3-2, away, in the first stage of the play-out. The club ACS SC Oțelul Galați was sanctioned with a sports penalty of 5,000 lei.

The footballers Matteo Duțu (Dinamo) and Mikola Kovtaliuk (FC Botoșani), eliminated in the first stage from the play-off (with Rapid) and from the play-out (with Unirea Slobozia), respectively, were sanctioned with suspensions for two matches and fines of 3,000 lei each.

The FC Argeș club was also fined 2,000 lei for the incidents during the match with Craiova University (1-0 for Pitesti), away, in the play-off.
