The Golden Party submitted in the Parliament a controversial draft: the intonation of the national anthem and the utterance of the prayer “Our Father” at the beginning of each school day.

The document appeared on the website of the Economic and Social Council (CES), according to edupedu.ro.
In the exposition of reasons, the initiators of the project claim that the measure aims to provide the students with a reflection and retreat before the beginning of the educational activities.
Also, the initiators also say that they contribute to the formation of balanced citizens, aware of their national identity and capable of capitalizing on the inherited cultural and spiritual heritage.
According to the quoted source, participation would be optional, for both students and teachers, but the text of the project stipulates that the refusal must be communicated in writing to the director of the educational unit, “Without the need to motivate it and without the one who refuses to suffer any damage”. If a teacher refuses to participate, then the students of the respective class would be accompanied by another teacher at the moment.
The initiative came from the gold deputy Cristina-Emanuela Dascălu and was signed by several parliamentarians from the Gold Party. The project was submitted to CES on Tuesday.
