The government has decided to assume responsibility in Parliament on five distinct legislative packages, in order to avoid the risk of constitutionality control. Minister Ionuț Moșteanu announced the following steps of the legislative process.

The executive will go to Parliament with five separate legislative packages, assuming their responsibility.
The decision was taken to eliminate any risks related to the constitutionality control at the Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR), explained Ionuț Moșteanu.“Colleagues have decided, Together with the General Secretariat, let’s go on five separate packages. There is also a precedent, they have been done in history. I think that in the time of Mr. Boc there was another time when he went to Parliament with two separate projects. We go with all five, together; it is more coherent from a legislative point of view and removes the danger of a bad decision, in the event of a constitutionality verification ”, said the official
According to him, the first consultations will start on Thursday with the main institutions involved: the Economic and Social Council, the Legislative Council and the Tripartite Council. “This will happen on Friday (August 29 – no).
Tomorrow, the consultations with the Economic and Social Council, the Legislative Council, the Tripartid Council, until Friday afternoon, each of these packages, draft laws and Friday afternoon we will take a new government meeting, which will approve these projects, begin, the minister said.
He added that the preliminary analysis shows that the proposed measures should pass the CCR filter without any problems: “These packages should stand and there is no risk of falling at the CCR.”
The adoption of the draft laws is scheduled for the Government meeting on Friday, and the responsibility will take place next week in the Parliament.
Specifically, “The measures regarding the local public administration will be part of a draft law that the Government will engage its responsibility. Separately, but on the same day, the Government will engage its responsibility on a law regarding fiscal measures. Likewise, but distinctly, the government will engage its responsibility on a draft law regarding the pensions of magistrates. Another draft law that the Government will engage its responsibility will be on health measures. And last but not least, he will engage his responsibility on a draft law regarding the reform of the legislation regarding the state companies”, Explains government sources.
