As there have been several complaints from tourists about the beaches being full of sunbeds, the Greek authorities have announced that only 30% of the area of each beach will be reserved for sunbeds, according to Antena 3.
Thus, 70% of the surface of each beach would be without sunbeds, and tourists who want to relax can sit on their own towel.
Also, the beaches protected and located in natural areas will be able to be covered by 15% with sunbeds.
These rules will have to be respected since the summer of this year.
In addition, there will have to be a free space of at least four meters between the water and the sand, a distance necessary in the event of a special intervention by the authorities.
Also, there is a new rule on the beaches in Romania: from the water to the sand there will be an empty space of three meters. It is forbidden to place sunbeds on this surface.
