Hard blow for CSA Steaua! Club financing, reduced by 12 million euros. The Minister of Defense, accused of bringing the formation into financial collapse

Radu Miruță decided to reduce the budget of the CSA Steaua Bucharest club by 12 million euros, after sending the Control Body to check how the money was spent last year.

The cut represents a drop of more than 35% from the amount received so far, which is causing concern within the club under the Ministry of National Defence.

“They are discussing a reduction of about 35%, i.e. to reach around 20,000,000 euros. And that would mean drastically reducing the activity or even closing some sports sections that either have no basis to carry out their activity, or have far below standard results in recent years.

Nothing has been officially announced, because the budget for 2026 has not been established even at the country level, but under these conditions, it would be about such a cut of public funds!according to GSP.

“Only about 12 million euros remain for sports activity!”

In total, Steaua had a budget of approximately 32 million euros, money divided among 34 sports departments. Almost half of this amount is allocated to the salaries received by employees, according to the previously mentioned source.

“Then, a good part of the money is for the maintenance and administration of the club’s 9 bases. It is about the stadium, the swimming pool, the sports bases from Săftica, Forban, from Plevnei, the ski complex from Predeal, the nautical base from Mangalia, the “Mihai Viteazul” hall where basketball and volleyball are played, as well as the military unit where the club’s headquarters are located.

Practically, only about 12 million euros remain for sports activity. Compared to other clubs under public law, such as CS Dinamo, CSM București, CSM U Craiova, Corona Brașov, CSM Constanța or others, which have several sections, Steaua is even lower in terms of exclusively sports funding!GSP also writes.
