A house in Huedin, a small town located 50 kilometers from Cluj-Napoca, in Cluj county, ended up costing about as much as a castle in France. Obviously, a house in a good area of Cluj could cost five to six times more than the mentioned castle.
This is what the castle in France looks like, which is sold at an almost identical price to a house 50 km from Cluj
The real estate market has really gone crazy in Romania, especially in the big cities. And Cluj is the undisputed champion of real estate prices, regardless of whether it is about houses, land or apartments, and regardless of whether it is sales or rents. But if real estate prices in Cluj have long crossed the borders and become the subject of banks, in recent years the properties located more or less near the city have reached astronomical prices. This is also the case of a house in Huedin, a small town located 50 kilometers from Cluj. Here, a house sells for over 600,000 euros, according to an ad published in OLX.

In “competition” with a castle in 12th century France
Interestingly, a splendid medieval castle in France was recently put up for sale for about the same price. The ad was placed on French-Property.com, the website of a real estate agency in Hexagon.
“Located in the heart Saint-Céré, this magnificent castle, whose history begins in the 12th century, will charm you because it combines modern comfort with the character of the old. The castle consists of 3 levels, totaling approximately 360 sqm of living space. The entrance and floors are served by a magnificent spiral stone staircase”it is mentioned in an announcement.

On the 2nd floor, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, one with a sauna, as well as a large laundry room. Last but not least, it is also mentioned that this castle: “it also has a large attic which could provide additional living potential. The walled garden includes a detached barn with summer kitchen, a double garage with a second floor with potential for apartment or games room. It should also be noted that all shops are within walking distance. As you understand, this building, rare on the market, can offer you a real life project…(Family home, luxury guest rooms, cottage).”
The price of the castle: 689,000 euros. The property is located in France, in Saint-Céré, in the former Midi-Pyrénées region (Sud-Pyrenees – one of the 26 regions of France until the administrative-territorial reform of 2014, and since 2015 included in the new Occitania region).
A villa in Cluj-Napoca, in a good area, could cost even 5-6 times more than this castle. It is also the case of a property put up for sale last year for 3.5 million euros, whose price was later reduced to 3.1 million in order to be sold.
It is a house with six rooms, indoor pool and tennis court and many other amenities. The property is located on DD Roșca street, in the Făget neighborhood, on the outskirts of Cluj, in a place where houses are usually sold for between 1-2 million euros.
