High school graduates who did not appear or failed the 2024 Baccalaureate exam have another chance in the fall. But many of them will have to pay a fee. And the amount is not small at all.

Between July 15-22, the registrations for the fall session of the 2024 Baccalaureate exam take place. High school graduates will only take the tests in which they did not get a grade 5. For example, if in the summer you got a grade 7 in the Romanian Language, a grade 6 in Mathematics and grade 4 in physics, in the following session you will take the exam only in Physics.

Who can register for the Baccalaureate 2024, autumn session

All high school graduates who did not pass the July exam or those who did not pass in previous years can register for the 2024 Baccalaureate exam in the autumn session. People who have completed 12 classes, but have never taken the maturity exam, can also enroll in the Baccalaureate. As for the age limit, it does not exist. It doesn’t matter what year you finished high school either.

How many times can you take the Baccalaureate in Romania

High school graduates who have not passed the exam in the past should know that they can register for the Baccalaureate every year, both in the summer and fall sessions, if they do not pass on the first attempt. Therefore, the law does not only provide for a certain number of registrations, beyond which you no longer have the right to take the tests. The gift can be given year after year until you take it. For example, if you failed last year, you can come back this year better prepared. And if you still don’t get a passing grade, come back next year. And so on.

Who pays the registration fee for the Baccalaureate, autumn session

The Baccalaureate exam is free for high school graduates who take it for the first time. We are talking about the students who take the tests in the two sessions that are organized: the one in the summer and the one in the fall. Instead, whoever returns for the third time will pay a registration fee. However, it increases from one year to the next.

How much does it cost to take the Baccalaureate for the third time?

The registration fee for Baccalaureate 2024, the autumn session will take some money out of your pockets. This is determined from year to year and must be announced by the beginning of March of the current school year.

Registration for Baccalaureate 2024 has become more expensive for people who take the exam for the third time, as has the fee per test, which differs according to the county, according to an address from the Ministry of Education.

This year, candidates will pay 464 lei for all the tests, which is almost 100 euros. In 2023, students who failed the Baccalaureate in previous years paid 435 lei. We are talking about a significant increase compared to 2022, when the fee for taking the Baccalaureate exam was 367 lei.

Baccalaureate 2024. Calendar, autumn session

  • July 15 – 22: Registration of candidates for the second exam session, including candidates who have passed the qualifying exams;
  • August 8 – 9: Evaluation of oral communication skills in Romanian – test A;
  • August 9: Evaluation of oral communication skills in the mother tongue – test B;
  • August 12: Evaluation of digital skills – test D;
  • August 13 – 14: Assessment of language skills in an internationally spoken language – test C;
  • August 19: Romanian language and literature – test Ea) – written test;
  • August 20: Mandatory profile test – Ec test) – written test;
  • August 21: Test of choice of profile and specialization – Ed test) – written test;
  • August 22: Mother tongue and literature – test Eb) – written test;
  • August 26: Displaying the results of the written tests (until 12:00 p.m.) and submitting appeals (12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.);

August 27 – 29: Resolution of appeals;

  • August 30: Display of final results

To pass the 2024 Baccalaureate exam, candidates must obtain a minimum grade of 5 in each written test taken, and the grade average must be at least 6.
