A former programmer said that he has come to earn more of the delivery of fast food than in IT. His story sparked debates on the Reddit network. But it is not the only case in which the employees in the deliveries praised their expectations with income.

Gave up IT for deliveries

“After 14 years of career in IT, I was fired. I searched over a year of work and found nothing, although I went to over 40 interviews. Career transitions are often surprising and full of valuable lessons. The transition from the programmer to the delivery may seem unusual, but it has brought me unique advantages and opportunities ”writes the young man, on the social network.

Delivery allows a flexible work schedule and is not stressful as a programmer work. In addition, he writes, helped to lose 20 kilograms and feel 10 years younger. But what surprised the most was the income obtained.

“No matter how aberrant, from 9,500 lei on an individual employment contract, I reached over 15,000 lei, having two non -Paleti boys that help me. Interestingly, I met a lot of people who worked in IT and now make deliveries, or Uber and Bolt. An Asian delivery, with ten hours a day, reaches 8,000 lei with all. He works four days a week for this money ”, says the former programmer.

A food supplier from Brașov says, in turn, that he obtained about 6,000 lei per month, although he works as part time (reduced program).

“I earn about 6,000 lei per month. From the tips they make an average of between 300 and 500 lei per week. I work somewhere five hours a day. What I do for tips, for example: I take candy and every time I order, I punch with the client and then I stretch a candy. At Glovo you give a 10 percent fleet commission. There are many by bicycle that make more money than those by car ”, says the supplier from Brașov, according to the Biz Brașov publication.

They are also advantaged are those who make deliveries on electric scooters, even if some expenses related to the maintenance or rent of scooters have to decrease from their income. One of them reported to get 3,000 lei from deliveries in the Capital. The most physically requested are cyclists. Some reach tens of kilometers traveled daily by bicycle, wearing bulky guys in the back

Employment ads promise high revenues and flexible program

The employment announcements published by the companies in the field of deliveries promise generous winnings, up to 14,000 lei a month, all with tips, more precisely up to 2,000 lei weekly and sometimes even more. And the conditions seem simple.

“Do you have a car, bicycle or scooter? Perfect! You can deliver and earn money. No bosses, without stress – you choose alone when and how much you want to work! Any age is welcome – the experience does not matter, we help you! Weekly payment (every Monday) – Money quickly get to you! Attractive bonuses – extra earnings for efficient deliveries! Flexible employment – can be with PFA, II, SRL or normal contract! In the cities of Bucharest, Timișoara, Cluj-Napoca, Suceava, Brașov, Sibiu”, An announced company announces.

Another company promises weekly revenues from 800 to 2,000 lei, depending on involvement. Accept people with a minimum age of 18 years and a means of transport. “We provide an unlimited number of jobs in the field of home delivery, from various restaurants in your city”, announces employers.

The income obtained by deliverors depend on work and involvement relationships

Career specialist Gabriel Chicioreanu says that the revenues obtained by deliverors depend on their status in the field of work: either by employees on their own (freelancer) or by employees of companies that have partnerships with the large platforms that manage the deliveries.

“Those who are on their own and collaborate directly with the online sales platforms, either because they made a SRL or a PFA or registered directly on these platforms, like Glovo and Tazz and who are still Chances of obtaining high earnings, of 10,000 – 12,000 lei per month, earning as you work. And being frelanders are interested in winning more ”shows the specialist in human resources.

In this case, however, there are people who work well over eight hours a day. One of the food suppliers showed that he obtained an income of 3,000 lei in a week, in which he worked 65 hours.

“It would be more correct to say that I do 550 – 600 lei at 12 hours or about 50 lei per hour worked. Unfortunately, I have repeatedly proved to be lately that this job is regarded as if you are the company of society. And I also understood why: some are not cared for, they walk with those dirty bags, it may seem like a job for people without a job. But they earn, even if not all couriers make so much money“, He confessed.

In the second category of fast food delivery, there are employees of companies that have partnerships with delivery platforms and are already employees of other entities, shows the expert in HR.

In this case, her employees do not reach the earnings of up to 10,000 lei per month, but can have earnings from 3,000 to 6,000 lei per month. They are Romanian, but many of them, especially in the big cities, come from countries in southeastern Asia, like Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand. Their status is not in any case privileged, shows Gabriel Chicioreanu.

“They earn better here, including such an activity than in their origin countries, but their working conditions are not among the best and I could say that their benefits are too small for the effort they make , some say they work from early morning until late evening. They no longer have a social life, and, as a rule, what they win send to the countries they come from. He spends a little because through the contracts by which the employers are brought here, being obliged to provide accommodation, and with the food they do ”says Gabriel Chicioreanu.

At the same time, often foreign suppliers are not well viewed by Romanians. Both their customers, but also employers, can sometimes be seen on traveling with degraded bicycles or scooters, or with outdated backpacks.

“Because they come from another culture, some Romanians have the impression that they are as servants, some believe that they do not do much, which is not right. But let us not forget that without these people, everything we ordered, individuals or companies, the respective products and goods would not reach well and in a timely manner. On the other hand, it is important not to forget that they also have needs, and they have families to maintain and look at them and treat them as such, with humanity. ” says the career expert.

Deletion hires are opportunities for earnings for students, young people who can work as part-time to increase their income, but also people who have reached older ages and quickly need jobs. But the revenues are conditioned by the involvement and the time allocated to this profession, adds Gabriel Chicioreanu.
