According to statisticiromania.ro, Bucharest continues to lead in the top of the highest salaries at the national level. Thus, in 2023, the average net salary in the capital of Romania was almost 6,000 lei, more precisely 5,937 lei. In 2020, the average net salary in Bucharest was 4,260 lei.
Cluj is in second place, not far from Bucharest, with an average of 5,628 lei (3,867 lei in 2020).
The podium is completed by Timiș, where the average net salary for 2023 was 5,077 lei (3,460 in 2020)
Sibiu occupies the fourth position of the ranking, with an average of 4,872 lei (3,318 in 2020). In Iași, one of the largest and most important cities of the country, an average of 4,452 lei (3,222 in 2020) was registered during the past year

According to the statistics provided by statisticiromania.ro, the salaries of Romanians have increased considerably in recent years. The IT field, which attracts young people like a magnet and offers extremely motivating salaries, also contributed to this growth, experts claim.
“Young people are attracted to IT because it is a nice and well-paid job. In Iași, for example, this field has experienced a huge development in recent years. Many modern office buildings have been built in the city center, which offer the best conditions for employees. The appearance of these office buildings also attracted many huge companies, which recruit young Romanians. At the same time, the country's universities produce real specialists, who can be immediately employed on the labor market”, stated the representatives of a multinational based in Iași.
