On the official page of the National Pension House, dozens of testimonies have been collected in recent days about situations in which pensioners were expecting increases in amount, instead they still have the social pension after the recalculation. Among them, the case of a woman who worked for 13 years under special conditions.

After the wave of revolt registered following the receipt of the recalculation decisions, the Ministry of Labor no longer knows what to do to convince pensioners that there will be no reductions in pension, in payment, even in those situations where, after the recalculation, resulted lower values. Messages that should reassure, however, sparked another wave of revolt.
Four days ago, the message appeared on the official Facebook page of the National Pension House, informing pensioners that the social allowance (the lowest paid pension in the system) does not decrease. The clarification comes in the context in which the officials of the Ministry of Labor announced that out of a total of over 4 million pension decisions issued, over 700,000 have lower values than those in the decisions still in force. If, after recalculation, the resulting value is lower than the one in payment, pensioners will collect the pension they currently receive.
“The social allowance for retirees does not fall below 1,281 lei!
Starting from September 1, 2024, all pensioners receiving social benefits will continue to receive the minimum guaranteed amount of 1,281 lei, regardless of the amount resulting from the recalculation.
If the recalculated pension is less than 1,281 lei, the difference is borne from the state budget.
This means that, regardless of the amount resulting from the recalculation, no pensioner will receive less than 1,281 lei”, CNP officials announced on their Facebook page.
Instead, the message heated up the sprites even more, and that’s because, people write, it can’t only be about equity (which is what the new law should have been about, according to those who put it into practice) early on people with years of hard work behind them still get paid the same as those who worked only one day.
“See you in court, hyenas!”
Of the dozens of comments that have gathered on the post of the National Pension House, those from satisfied pensioners can be counted on the fingers of one hand.
“You made fun of everyone. Don’t get fed up, you, with your senseless and undeserved income! But you have proven to everyone that you are totally illiterate, you don’t even know the constitution of Romania, you don’t know anything about those you steal from. See you in court hyenas!“, pensioners warn the officials of the National Pension House.
“Aren’t you ashamed of what you’re doing? We are the poor of Europe. Thousands of people will die of hunger. You don’t care. Everyone should have received money. And the more than 700 thousand (ed. – this is the estimated number of pensioners who were recalculated with a lower pension amount than the one in the current decision) are voting citizens. Or not? Couldn’t you give them at least 50 lei? Vile, it cannot be more vile.” is another message of displeasure.
“Did he get sick on dad’s farm?”
A lady wants to present the situation of her sister, who became seriously ill after only 13 years of service, and could no longer work. Although he worked for 13 years in difficult conditions, having the I work group, he collects the minimum pension, the pensioner’s sister says, in the posted comment. The woman is so outraged that at the end of the message she curses those who put pensioners in such humiliating situations.
“We agitate for nothing. They won’t do anything for us. My sister was a lab technician at the Oxygen Station. Sanitary and industrial oxygen is also bottled. He worked 12 to 24. He always said – I’m leaving, I hope to come back -. It was work group 1. What I mean is that he used to walk about 12 km to work, and this was before ’89, through all the elements. It was a very hard winter and he was walking through the snow almost to the middle. Inevitably he got sick with the kidneys. He stayed in hospitals for almost a year, when those from Bucharest (Fundeni) made his disability pension file. He only worked 13 and a bit and was retired 15.5 years. He retired for the age limit and has 1,281 lei. I wonder: did he get sick on his father’s farm???? One who didn’t work a day I understood that he gets the same money.
QI am disgusted by everything that is happening in Romania. The Sicilian Mafia was a small child next to them. We deserve our fate. We’ve become slobs waiting for others to solve our problems. And I wish the comrades in power to be cursed until the ninth generation.” the lady concludes her message.
Who is taking advantage of the wave of discontent
Another person brings another situation to attention. He says he retired early, after 37 years of work, and would have a calculated pension of only 1,063 lei.
“Now, after the so-called increase, my mother has 1,995 lei, without 5 lei she doesn’t have 2,000. After 44 years of work. Serious?”, it is shown in another message.
“I have been on sickness pension since 2011. I have worked for 28 years, 1,510 lei pension. I don’t know if the thieves will give me anything.” another citizen exposes his situation.
The representatives of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) immediately take advantage of the discontent of the Romanian pensioners, who intervene, also through a comment, and announce that they are making available, in all the offices in the country, a model for contesting the recalculation decision and, even more , he waits for the pensioners, in an interval of two hours a day, to offer them advice in order to take the state to court.
