At a time when prices on the real estate market are reaching unimaginable heights, a Romanian has found the solution of a house that resembles those in sci-fi movies, but which costs less than a studio apartment. In addition, the house will allow the owner to save during the winter.
A Romanian presented on the Internet his new house built in a special style, reminiscent of those from sci-fi movies or an igloo. An original, ecological solution with a unique appearance. He posted an image accompanied by a few lines on a Facebook group, and people's reactions were prompt.
“Hello beautiful community! Finally I decided to add a post to the group: as many of you, I also wanted my 'dream house' in the country, and after many calculations and a few sleepless nights, I finally decided to build it myself,” he began his post.
He then went on to show how he built his property and explained the steps he has taken so far, giving an indication of the price.
“In the photo you see a geodesic dome “in red”, which means the wooden structure + the starboard. The next step is to add the triangular windows, complete the tower and then externally insulate the house by covering it with bituminous shingles. The dimensions of the construction are 50 square meters on the ground with the possibility of adding 28 real meters on the first floor, due to the height of the structure, which is 4.78 m, not including the tower. House costs for 50 meters plus are around 20-25 thousand euros, depending of course on the materials chosen. I hope my post inspires you as many of you have inspired me through your shared experiences. Let us have health and above all peace, tranquility and health, because we will do the rest!“, he concluded.
His post quickly went viral and hundreds of people commented, each with their own ideas and observations, but most praised the new owner.
What do Romanians say
“I understand there are some advantages, including about 20% more efficient heating. Congratulations on the project! Here on the group it is not about “tradition”, because it is not entitled “moved to the village in traditional houses”. It's about country life as everyone thinks it is. I'm also curious about the finished build and conclusions drawn, hope you'll come back with a post then“, someone wrote.
“In Spain there are courses for such a house”, added another.
“Why not? A futuristic construction, but inspired by other cultures of the world. It makes me think of the igloo, the Mongolian tent, the homes of Antarctic scientists and tribes in Canada or Africa…A tribute to diversity and the fulfillment of the dreams of bold and visionary people.” another internet user added.
“Made well and correctly, it is resistant to wind and especially to earthquakes. It needs to be waterproofed very well, not having a normal roof…,” someone else observed.
Others told of building similar homes, and one advised him to invest in quality insulation: “But you can only win with good insulation very good, recover on heating, so did the son-in-law, he emphasized on insulation which costs quite a lot, but as of November 22, 2022 they still haven't let the heat go, and believe me I'm in a T-shirt at home, the son-in-law thought there was something wrong with the central unit and a specialist came to see if it wasn't on, and it wasn't. That's very good insulation, don't be sorry.“
“I have a similar dream too”
“I have a similar dream too… for a long time. I'm happy for those who manage to fulfill their dreams, congrats, I'd really like to see how the work goes on” said a lady.
“Good evening! We also have a construction in the same model, a little more advanced, also in the village“, someone else wrote to him.
“Even now (67 years old) I would build something like this, if I had money, of course. I also like treehouses”, another member of the group testified.
“Interesting. Congratulations! We are waiting for more pictures. I saw a similar one about 30 years ago in Arizona USA…. I was very pleasantly surprised! In addition to the architecture, the owner was trying to make everything ecological. I liked the idea. Good luck!,” observed another.
