How much money did a Romanian tourist end up spending on the seaside? Prices are higher every year

Tourists arriving this summer on the Romanian coast have to face tariffs higher than last year. Many of those who are at the beach these days say that they expected prices to be higher than in previous summers, but found that the reality exceeds the estimated budget.

A day in the southern area of the Romanian coast can cost even a thousand lei for a family, according to Digi24.

In the north of the coast, where rates and prices are much higher, this amount can double.

In order to cope with price increases, tourists try to divide their budget by days from home, but they do not manage to fit into the allotted daily amount every time.

In Eforie Nord, where accommodation starts from 300 lei and can reach up to 600 lei per night, tourists still have to spend between 200 and 500 lei per day for food, drink and entertainment. In other resorts they need even more money.

“We come from Mamaia Nord, everything is double there” a tourist confesses to Digi24.

The president of ANAT Sud Est says that the market is the one that regulates the demand.

“We see that the Romanians clearly penalize those who deviate from the quality of services versus price”, explains Cristian Bărhălescu, president of ANAT Sud Est

Although a holiday abroad may cost less, the main reasons why Romanians choose to go to the sea in our country’s resorts are related to the distance, but also to the fact that they are familiar with medical services, which gives them more security.

It should be noted that, although, in many ways, the Romanian coast has become a scarecrow, there are also cheap options. In each resort there are food shops, terraces, snack boxes and self-service for those who prefer a less demanding meal.
