“The preparation of the electoral election on May 4, 2025 for the election of the President of Romania is in the graph. The institutions involved in the electoral process act according to the calendar, the funds necessary to prepare the elections have been allocated, and the legislation is adopted from the beginning of this year.”, Stations the Government Press Office.
According to the Government statement “Any contrary information on this subject, conveyed in the public space, is false, devoid of any foundation and only arouses public emotion through manipulation.”
When the election campaign begins for the first round of presidential elections
We recall that, for the first round of the presidential elections 2025, the election campaign begins on April 4 and ends on May 3, at 7:00, according to the Decision on the Calendar, published in the Official Gazette.
May 2 – from 7:00 (local time) at 21:00 (local time) – is the first day of voting abroad. On May 3, between 7:00 and 21:00 (local time) is the second day of voting abroad. On May 4 is the third day of voting in the diaspora. The urns open at 7:00 (local time) and close at 21:00 (local time or local time, as the case may be). On Sunday, the voting ends at 21:00 local, but not later than the local time of Romania 21:00.
On May 4, 7:00, the voting in the country begins. Sections will close at 21:00.
When the election campaign begins for the second round of presidential elections
For the second round, the election campaign will start on May 9 and will end on May 17, at 7:00. The elections in the country take place on May 18, between 7:00 and 21:00.
The voting abroad will also take place during three days: Friday, May 16, between 7:00 – 21:00 (local time), Saturday, May 17, between 7:00 – 21:00 (local time) and Sunday, May 18, between 7:00 (local time) – 21:00 (local time or local time).
