In the short time remaining until the samples of the national exams are taken, the students can do a recap. The counselors recommend that they take testing seriously, not to recap the day before the exam, but to have relaxing activities.

There are three days until the students in the eighth grades are expected to take the first sample of the national evaluation exam. Over a few more days, their older colleagues will pass through the same emotions who will support the baccalaureate samples.
Although the stakes of simulations are not as important as the exam itself, this “repetition” plays a very big role, considers the school counselor Aurora Szocs.
“First of all, they need to understand the meaning of simulations and it is very important to approach them seriously. That is, a simulation is a kind of exam, but with less major implications. But it is very important, because it has to manage everything that means time, time, emotions, emotions. They have not had much exams for much, considering that the theses do not give anymore ”draws the counselor.
Three days before the exam can no longer talk about accumulation of knowledge, but a recap of everything they have learned so far can be done. On the day before the examination, the counselor recommends the relaxing activities.
No activity on the phone one day before the exam
“Do not learn on the last day or before an exam, because otherwise the information you accumulate then overlap with the ones you have accumulated until then and will not be. It must be a period when that information is settled as well as this day before the exam or simulation. On this day to do something to relax. I do not stay on the phone, because they overload their eyes, but also concentration and everything. To do anything else that relaxes and pleases them. To walk, draw, run, make and move in one way or another. Because if they learned, they learned a lot until then. And the night before the exam, clearly must sleep ”recommends the psychologist.
The state of fatigue can lead to blockages, which is not desirable, all the more so, at the national evaluation samples, the working time is only two hours.
“What I see at the evaluation: the hardest thing is time, the classification in time ”adds Szocs.
How we approach the topics
And precisely because the time allocated to solving the topics is short, the counselor also explains how to proceed after the topics were presented, in order not to enter the crisis.
“You look, make an assessment at all topics and start with the subject you know best. The evaluation is more difficult, because they have those grids at first. But I have to take a few minutes, two minutes. To breathe, to calm down and to take on what I know. The fact that I first do what I know gives them a sense of confidence and clears them a little in mind so they can approach the others. If they start with very heavy topics, then they will panic very hard and have the feeling that they do not handle it at all. That is why he starts for an examination from simple to harder ”, explains the psychologist.
The counselor points out that the simulations should be taken seriously because the students have the opportunity to know at what level of knowledge they have reached and where they have to work.
“You do not remember the child two days before having simulation”
Councilor Aurora Szocs also has advice for parents. He recommends that, regardless of the emotions that try, be careful not to convey this condition. Moreover, you need to be children with.
“First of all we have to take care of the children, trust our children. Because if they learned, they will be seen. And to constantly encourage them:
As for how we can cause them to take the training seriously, the counselor recommends that we take care of the relationship we build over time, warning that threats like “you are no longer allowed with the phone”, “you will not go out with friends”. It works for a while, but not long -term.
“The generations now do not respond to negative motivation. I can answer then at the moment, but it doesn’t work too much. Instead, I respond to the valorization and encouragement and the relationship we have with the child. Which is built over time, obviously, you do not remember the child two days before having simulation. This must be maintained and encouraged and worked with him about the whole period ”, says psychologist Aurora Szocs.
What do you do after a weak result of simulation
A widespread belief among the students, both the high school and the high school, is that in the case of very weak results in the simulation tests, the representatives of the Ministry of Education will decide to propose less difficult topics in the actual exam. There are students who do not seriously approach the subjects just having this conviction. This idea is a trap, the school counselor draws attention. The student, on the other hand, misses the chance to evaluate how he would do in exam conditions.
If, although he took the exam seriously, the result from the simulation is not the desired one, there is still time to recover. However, a well -developed learning plan will be needed and, again, the support of parents.
“An evaluation and a bacon reflects rhythmic learning, so to speak. It is very difficult not to learn four years and start in the last months to learn ”draws the attention of szocs.
On the other hand, students and parents must be aware that in the case of a weak result there are solutions. The “examination of life”, as it is often told to the gymnasium students that it is the national evaluation, they draw their way for the first year of high school, and then it is about things, if they are not on the desired path, to change.
“It’s about a year, ultimately. I mean, it draws your future for a year. Because in the 9th grade, you really can’t be transferred. But based on the average you have in the 9th grade you can transfer yourself later. So it’s not a tragedy. Let’s think: What happens if it is bad for a child, then, on the exam? Maybe he’s a 10 child. It can happen. There are children who vomit, they are sorry, they go to the toilet I don’t know how many times. There are very smart children, but who cannot handle these very strong emotions. Especially if there is so much pressure on them. And then, automatically, the management of emotions is done by practicing. And participating in as many competitions and exams and everything. But if you are thinking, apart from the Olympics and competitions, the important exams are 4 to 4 years. And in 4 years children change a lot. And their emotions and absolutely everything ”conclude psycho. Aurora Szocs.
