“According to the decision, the voter who, on the day of voting, is in the administrative-territorial unit where he established his domicile or residence, votes only at the polling station where he is entered in the permanent electoral list”, according to a statement sent to the editors “The truth” by the Central Electoral Bureau for the election of the President of Romania in 2024 (BEC)
At the same time, the voter with domicile or residence in the municipality of Bucharest cannot exercise his right to vote at a polling station located in another sector of the municipality of Bucharest than the one in which he has his domicile or residence, but he can exercise his right to vote at any polling station located in another county, to be entered in the additional electoral list.
“If, on the day of voting, the voter is in a different administrative-territorial unit than the one where he established his domicile or residence, he can vote at any polling station, and will be entered in the additional electoral list”states BEC.
Likewise, the voter with reduced mobility can vote at any polling station that provides him with access to vote, and will be registered in the additional electoral list, if he is not registered in the permanent electoral list of the respective voting station. At the same time, the voter abroad can vote at any polling station organized outside the country.
Until what time can voting be extended?
According to the decision, in the situation where, at 21.00, the president of the electoral office of the polling station finds that there are people in the polling station, as well as in a row, outside its headquarters, who have come to vote, he will extend the voting until 23.59 at the latest.
Representatives of foreign media institutions accredited by the Permanent Electoral Authority and of Romanian media institutions have the opportunity to film/photograph in public places in the voting area and in the premises of the voting station without affecting the secrecy of the vote and without processing data with personal character. Photographing or filming the ballot by any means is prohibited.
During the same meeting, the Central Electoral Bureau for the election of the President of Romania in 2024 also adopted “The decision regarding the admission of the replacement of the representative of the Forța Dreptei party in the County Electoral Office no. 12 Călărași – Election of the President of Romania in 2024″.
The full text of the decisions adopted in the meeting of October 17, 2024 will be available on the BEC website.
