“I don’t feel very well.” Alfred Bulai was released from house arrest and transported to the hospital for a consultation

Sociologist Alfred Bulai was taken out of house arrest on Monday, October 7, and taken to the hospital, in a wheelchair, for a check-up, after he called the ambulance claiming he was feeling sick.

My health comes first and I called an ambulance. I don’t feel very well, I had heart surgery”, said Alfred Bulai, the teacher accused of abuse, according to Romania TV.

On October 3, the 1st District Court admitted the request made by Alfred Bulai Bulai regarding the modification of the content of the preventive measure of house arrest. The court allowed him to leave the building where he is serving the preventive measure of house arrest, on October 7, between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., in order to go to the Central Military Emergency University Hospital “Dr. Carol Davila”. The professor goes to the Cardiovascular Surgery department for a consultation.

“I can’t climb four steps,” Bulai told reporters.

He also stated that he is innocent. “The other side transmits information as it wants, I am not allowed to say even three words in my defense. I can tell you that there are a lot of things that have nothing to do with anything” said Bulai.

We remind you that the 1st District Court admitted on Tuesday, October 1, the request of the prosecutors to extend the house arrest measure by 30 days.

Alfred Bulai is under house arrest since September 5, 2024.

The former teacher from SNSPA is accused of committing the crimes of abuse of office for sexual purposes and sexual assault. One of the victims testified in detail how she was assaulted and harassed by Bulai. According to prosecutors, the student was sexually harassed between July 2022 and May 2024.

The teacher asked her to undress in front of him in the room where he was giving her academic feedback. He also hugged her against her will and tried to forcefully kiss her. After several months of harassment, he allegedly asked the student to have sex with him, according to prosecutors.
