Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan received on Thursday, January 15, at the Victoria Palace, Ali Yerlikaya, Minister of Internal Affairs from the Republic of Turkey, who is making an official visit to Romania, at the invitation of his Romanian counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister Cătălin Predoiu, Minister of the Interior.
Ilie Bolojan welcomed the sustained dynamics of bilateral cooperation in recent years, in political, economic and security terms, Turkey being a strategic partner and a particularly important ally in NATO and the Black Sea, as well as the importance of cooperation in the format of the high-level Strategic Cooperation Council, according to a Government statement.
“In the context of the challenges in the region, the Romanian Prime Minister welcomed the common vision and close cooperation as allies and thanked for the resumption the participation of Turkey in the Air Police of NATO, on the territory of Romania.
Regarding bilateral cooperation in the field of internal affairs, Prime Minister Bolojan welcomed the constant dialogue and good cooperation between the two ministries, especially in areas such as combating illegal migration and migrant trafficking, combating drug trafficking, exchange of best practices, experience and mutual assistance in case of natural disasters or emergency situations”. it is shown in the press release.

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan appreciated that the joint declaration signed on Thursday, in Bucharest, by the ministers of the interior draws concrete directions of action in the fields of mutual interest and creates the premises for results for the benefit of the citizens of the two countries.
On behalf of the Government, along with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, Deputy Prime Minister Cătălin Predoiu, Minister of Internal Affairs, and the State Counselor in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, Luminița Odobescu, participated.
Together with the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Ali Yerlikaya, the ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Romania, Özgür Altan, participated in the meeting.
On Friday, Ilie Bolojan will go to Iasi and Botoșani
On Friday, January 16, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will hold working meetings with mayors from Iasi and Botoșani counties, on topics related to local public administration.
Representatives of the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration will participate in the meetings.
