Yves Bissouma (29 years old), Radu Drăgușin’s colleague from Tottenham, was the victim of a massive fraud, which emptied his account of over 900,000 euros, according to the British media. The London-based Malian midfielder has an account at Coutts, the famous bank used by celebrities, billionaires and members of the royal family.

The losses occurred between September 2022 and June 2024, and the alarm was raised by the player himself. The defendant, 31-year-old Maurice Gomes, arrested a year ago, was recently indicted.
The thief transferred the money himself from Bissouma’s account
According to The Sun, legal reports show that Gomes is accused of “dishonestly” transferring Bissouma’s money to himself without the player’s “knowledge or consent”. Prosecutors allege Gomes transferred a total of £834,334.40 “for personal gain”.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Gomes was charged twice in October with fraud by false statements. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison for each count.
Bissouma’s situation at Tottenham
The African midfielder is currently unavailable due to an injury sustained in October during the international break. Even after his return, he may struggle to establish himself, with new coach Thomas Frank preferring other options in midfield.
