Incredible decision of Dortmund, at the Club World Cup. Back up players left in the locker room during the match

Borussia Dortmund prevailed after a spectacular match, 4-3, in front of the South Africans from Mamelodi Sundowns, in the second stage of the World Cup Group Phase. The Germans resorted to an unmoved gesture in football, the reserve players watching the match in the locker room, while on the technical bench were only members of Niko Kovac’s staff.

Dortmund’s coach made this decision because of the very large heat from Cincinnati, where the match was played. In the first half, the reserve players remained in the locker room and watched the performance of their colleagues on a screen. The image with Borussia’s reserves, around a table full of snacks and water bottles, was published by the club, on the official accounts on social networks.

“Our reserves followed the first half in the locker room to avoid the scorching sun on the TQL stadium. I haven’t seen that before, but in this heat, everything makes sense.”was the message posted on the account on Dortmund’s X network.

In the second half, the spare players took their usual place, on the bench, protecting themselves from the scorching sun with umbrellas and towels held on their heads. The measure taken by Niko Kovacs was finally successful, Borussia defeating and taking a big step towards the eighth of the club World Cup.
