The mayor of District 2 of the capital, Radu Mihaiu, filed a criminal complaint with the Prosecutor's Office attached to the District 2 Court, accusing him of serious acts of corruption of voters and falsification of electoral documents in the elections of June 9, 2024.

“On 12.06.2024, Radu Nicolae Mihaiu, mayor of Sector 2 in Bucharest, filed a criminal complaint regarding the commission of crimes of corruption of voters, prev. of art. 386 para. 1 C.pen., consisting in the fact that, <and falsification of electoral documents and records, prev. of art. 391 para. 1 Criminal Code, consisting in the fact that, on the same date, in four polling stations there were ballot papers pre-stamped with the Vote applied to the corresponding border of one of the candidates for the position of mayor of Sector 2 in Bucharest, as well as of one of the candidates for the position of general mayor of the municipality of Bucharest>>”, sent on Thursday in a press release, to the Department of Information and Public Relations within the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest District Court 2.

Radu Mihaiu: “294 votes from you were brought to light”

We remind you that a scandal of great proportions broke out after the results of the 2024 local elections. The Mayor of Sector 2 of the Capital, Radu Mihaiu, sent on Facebook that, after the votes were counted again in two polling stations, he recovered 294 votes.

The candidate of the United Right Alliance said in a previous post that he had discovered “new irregularity setsand”. This time it's Section 203, where seven votes cast in his favor were found “mixed through other stacks”.

Mihaiu also stated that Rareș Hopincă, the candidate of the PSD-PNL alliance for the City Hall of Sector 2 of the Capital, would have had fewer votes, more precisely by 25, than he had originally counted.
