After having a hard time in the quarters against Anca Todoni (7-6, 6-4), Irina Begu emotions in the duel with the Australian ranked 322nd in the world. She won the first set in only 32 minutes (6-1), then her opponent held until 2-2, when the Romanian broke away and prevailed 6-3. It was the fourth victory of the tricolor athlete without losing a set.
For qualifying to the final, Irina Begu will receive a check of 8,000 dollars and 81 WTA points, with which she will re-enter the world top 100, at position 93. If she wins in the last act of the 125 category tournament, she will jump again 10 places in the ranking.

Her opponent in the final will be decided following the duel between Panna Udvardy (146 WTA) and Veronika Erjavec (199 WTA). Their match was interrupted and then postponed due to rain, at the score of 5-2 in the first set for Erjavec.
