Transfăgărășan was covered again by snow, after a snowfall. However, road authorities say the road will be open by the end of May.

On Thursday night, in the alpine area of the Făgăraș Mountains, it snowed again, and on Transfăgărășan there was a layer of snow of about 10 centimeters, according to the information transmitted by the Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges (DRDP) Brașov.
The roads say they had to temporarily suspend the snow removal works due to the unstable weather conditions.
“Currently I have suspended the road clearing works until the weather conditions stabilize. However, we remain determined to open the Transfagarasan until the end of this month. ”DRDP Brașov said by a message published on Facebook.
We recall that on Tuesday, May 6, DRDP Brașov announced that DN 7 C, Transfăgărăşan, will open in the next two weeks, in the area being less to clean than in other years.
Transfăgărășanul, one of the most spectacular mountain roads in Romania, is closed every year during the winter, being usually reopened in early summer, depending on the weather conditions.
