President Klaus Iohannis signed, on Friday, May 31, 2024, the decrees regarding the transition to the reserve of Lieutenant General Bizadea Romeo-Cristian and his release from the position of deputy director of the Romanian Intelligence Service.

The decrees signed by Iohannis will enter into force on June 1, 2024.
SRI General Cristian Bizadea retired at the age of 48, official sources told Adevărul. Deputy director of the Romanian Intelligence Service, General Cristian Bizadea has held several important positions within the service since his employment in 2001.
Bizadea held several important positions in the General Counterintelligence Directorate, including: deputy head of the Directorate, head of analysis, operations and planning departments. In this capacity, he participated in operations carried out in cooperation with internal and external partners of SRI.
According to the representatives of the Romanian Information Service, Cristian Bizadea coordinated and contributed to the processes of institutional transformation and modernization of the service.
