Asked if he may still withdraw from the race, Nicușor Dan emphasized: “The fact that I am here proves the opposite.”
Regarding the possibility of invalidating the candidacy of his counter -candidate, Nicușor Dan said that he did not want to rule on a decision of the RCC, but pointed out that, in principle, the candidate supported by the sovereign parties and may be able to run.
“Romania is a rule of law and in this rule of law it is an institution, CCR and I do not want to pronounce what will decide. I think in principle, you should be able to apply ”explained Nicușor, claiming at the same time that “The decision on the case of the shock is legitimate legitimate ”.
The mayor of the Capital informed that he has gathered from the donations for the presidential campaign about 1.7-1.8 million lei so far. About 200 thousand euros would go for electoral advertising panels.
Nicușor Dan announced his intention to run for the presidential elections of 2025 on December 16, stating that he made the decision, “Because the Bucharest residents cannot live well in a Bucharest, if Romania does not do well” and indicating that there is a need for fundamental changes in the entire administration in Romania.
Who is Nicușor Dan
Nicușor Dan set up in 2006 the “Save Bucharest” Association, and in 2015 he founded the Union Save Bucharest, which was transformed into USR in 2016. In 2016 he obtained a deputy mandate in the Romanian Parliament.

Studies abroad
Nicușor Dan was born in Făgăraș, Brașov County, on December 20, 1969 and attended the “Radu Negru” Theoretical High School, graduating the baccalaureate in 1988. He also obtained the gold medal at the International Mathematics Olympiad in 1987 and 1988.
