American actor James van der Beek (48) appeared through a surprise video message at a charity event Dawson’s Creek Reunion, Monday, September 22, after announcing that he would not be able to attend a disease.
James van der Beek became famous at the late 1990s for the role of Dawson Leery in the Dawson’s Creek series – the production that has launched the careers of devoted artists like Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson.

Although Van der Beek could not be physically present at Richard Rogers Theater in New York, he appeared on stage with a pre-recorded video. In the message, the actor thanked the fans for purchasing tickets and presented on Lin Manuel Miranda as his replacement.
“I was waiting for this Monday and Monday evening, since my angel, Michelle Williams, told me that she is organizing her. I can’t believe I’m there. I can’t believe I don’t see my distribution colleagues, my wonderful team, face to face. And I just wish I could stay on that stage and thank you. In an Instagram post on September 21, just a day before the gala, the 48-year-old actor wrote that he is “devastated” after making two stomach viruses, but then reassured his fans.
His wife, Kimberly, announced that he was planning to participate with their children in the event. During the ceremony, Kimberly and the children went on stage with the distribution to sing the song of Paula Cole, “I do Want to Wait”, the theme of the famous series.
