Romanian tennis player Jaqueline Cristian was defeated by world number three Coco Gauff, 6-1, 0-6, 6-3, on Saturday night in the third round of the WTA 1,000 tournament in Rome, with total prizes of 4,791,105 euros.

Jaqueline Cristian (25 years, 68 WTA), entered the main draw as a “lucky loser”, bowed out after about two hours of play (2 h 4 min) in front of the reigning US Open champion.
Gauff (20 years old) committed no less than 15 double faults in this match.
The Romanian managed to win the second set against the American to zero, a situation that Gauff has not faced since November, when Iga Swiatek won 6-0, 7-5 at the Tournament of Champions.
Jaqueline Cristian chose with a check for 30,435 euros and 85 WTA points for participation.
