Although Romania is on the list of invited representatives, along with the other teams in the bracket, the selector has already announced to the Romanian Football Federation that he will not make the trip.

“Il Luce” was recently at the FIFA headquarters in Switzerland for the procedures related to the dam, but the trip to the United States is far too demanding for him.

According to Golazo, the 80-year-old coach explained that the approximately 12-hour journey from Istanbul to Washington is difficult to endure due to surgeries on both hips: “It would be an extraordinary effort to get to the US!”.

In the absence of the selector, Romania will be represented at the draw by a delegation consisting of the president of the FRF, Răzvan Burleanu, the general secretary Radu Vișan, the team-manager Cătălin Gheorghiu and the press officer Cătălin Popescu.
