On a Funyo prototype, which reaches a speed of 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.6 seconds and weighs 600 kilograms, Borlovan had his share of agony and ecstasy in the competition laps. In the first he had to return to the paddock after going out in the setting, and in the second he prevailed in the stage after remaining last on the circuit following the abandonment of his great rivals, Aurelian Andronache and Dragoș Savloschi, in turn them on single-seaters.

The 23-year-old pilot, originally from Timișoara, set the new reference time of the circuit organized in the center of the city, reaching the finish line in 02:52.828. The second overall leader, but first in the touring car category, was the former absolute champion from 2019, Costel Cășuneanu (Skoda Fabia R5), at 1.3 seconds, while the podium was completed by Radu Benea (Ferrari 488 Challenge) , two seconds behind the winner.

I’m living a dream, I can’t believe how it all happened. I lived everything at full intensity and I am honored to be in first place in the championship. I really want to bring the title of champion to Timișoara, it would be an absolute first for our city, for our countyBorlovan said.

Thousands of spectators attended the second stage of the National Championship of Super Rally powered by Superbet, organized by promoter Mihai Leu. The latter returned to competition after a break and took the start in his first super rally race since 2024. The former world boxing champion, driving an Audi R8 GT3 LMS, was sixth overall and finished on the podium in the GT classification.

For me personally it was a great joy to return as a driver to the super rally. The stage was a spectacular one, with many twists and turns and I think the public had a successful motoring event. I was happy to see so many people on the route and I thank them along the way“, said Leu, who announced that the next stage will take place on October 4-5 in Bucharest.
