Lidl has withdrawn from the shelves the product “Solevita Smoothie Red Genius, 250mL” – the assortment with red fruits that expires on March 12, 2024, on the grounds that it is contaminated with patulin, according to a statement from the manufacturer, Molkerei Gropper GmbH & Co. KG.

Patulin is a mycotoxin produced by molds that is harmful to health, causing nausea, vomiting and indigestion.
Customers must not consume the product in any form
Manufacturer's release – Molkerei Gropper GmbH & Co. KG – was published on the official website of the National Sanitary, Veterinary and Food Safety Authority:
“Bissingen, 07 March 2024. The producer Molkerei Gropper GmbH & Co. KG is recalling the product “Solevita Smoothie Red Genius, 250mL”, with red fruits, with an expiry date of 12.03.2024. The product affected by this recall contains chokeberry juice, which is contaminated with patulin. Patulin (mycotoxin) is a substance produced by molds that is harmful to health and can lead to nausea, vomiting and indigestion. Customers get their money back
Lidl Romania reacted immediately and withdrew the affected product from sale. The product can be returned in all Lidl stores, the same release states.
